Sage The 64th Wonder is an underground independent rapper, record producer, visual artist, and manga creator hailing from Harvey and the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He is known for performing in a distinctive, hand-crafted aluminum mask and pioneered an original, atmospheric subgenre he describes as “.sage~wav”.
His signature .sage~wav sound is an intricate fusion of heavy boom-bap grit, lo-fi soul, dusty sample flips, and ambient, meditative layers. Lyrically, he weaves together coded, spiritual wordplay and heavy anime and manga aesthetics, frequently drawing thematic inspiration from Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. As a member of the hip-hop collective SLUMPGANG777, his production and alter egos are often credited under names like Seji, Seji-Bot, Luxnch, and God's Hand. His music draws prominent creative influence from underground architects like MF DOOM, Mach-Hommy, Tha God Fahim, and J Dilla.
Since making his mixtape debut in 2014 with Child of the Wind Fortress, he has been incredibly prolific, dropping over 50 projects spanning digital files, physical vinyl, and limited-edition "Shintendo Cartridge" memory sticks.
